Home Harmony Cultural Art

Cultivate peace, unity, and prosperity within the household

🏛 Ming Dynasty (1368–1644 AD)Earth / Wood🙏 Zao Jun (灶君) / Kitchen God

📜 Historical Origins

The Home Harmony talisman invokes Zao Jun — the Kitchen God — who has been the guardian of domestic harmony since ancient times. During the Ming Dynasty, the practice of honoring Zao Jun became standardized, with families offering sweet foods before the Lunar New Year so he would report favorably to the Jade Emperor.

📖 Taoist Lore & Scripture

Zao Jun observes family conduct throughout the year and reports to heaven. The Tao Te Ching Ch. 54 teaches: "Cultivate virtue in your person, and it becomes genuine. Cultivate it in the family, and it overflows." Harmony begins at home and radiates outward.

🕯 Consecration Ritual

Inscribed during the hour of Si (9–11 AM) on a day of family significance. Master Luo Chuan performs the Kitchen God invocation, offering honey and sweet rice cakes before sealing the talisman.

How to Use

Place in the kitchen, dining room, or family gathering area. Particularly effective when hung near the stove or dining table. Replace annually before the Kitchen God's ascension (23rd day of the 12th lunar month).
